New Delhi:Delhi Police on Thursday claimed they have busted 'Bulli Bai' network after making the fourth arrest in the case that involves targeting and humiliating prominent Muslim women online.
The Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operation (IFSO) unit of Delhi Police Special Cell on Thursday arrested Neeraj Bishnoi, allegedly the main conspirator and creator of 'Bulli Bai' on GitHub.
He was also the main Twitter account holder of the app, and was being brought to Delhi, said DCP (IFSO) KPS Malhotra. "He has confessed, but most importantly, we've acquired technical evidence required from his laptop & mobile. Whole network has been busted."
Bishnoi told the police he developed the app in Nov 2021 & updated in Dec'21. He said he created one more Twitter account to talk about the app. Using another account he has stated 'You've arrested the wrong person', Delhi Police Special Cell revealed.

Bishnoi is a second-year engineering student and a resident of Jorhat village of Assam. He is a second year B.Tech, computer science student doing course from Vellore Institute of Technology, Bhopal.
On January 1, this app, which was performing on Github's space, posted the photos of a number of Muslim women. These included journalists, social workers, students and famous personalities. It happened six months after the controversy of Sulli Deals.

After the controversy erupted, Github removed the user 'Bulli Bai' from its hosting platform. But by then 'Bulli Bai' had sparked a nationwide controversy. The 'Bulli Bai' app was also being promoted by a Twitter handle with the name @bullibai, with the display picture of a Khalistani supporter.

This Twitter handle was endorsing the Bulli Bai app saying 'women can be booked from the app'. This handle was also promoting Khalistani content at the same time.Before arresting Bishnoi, Mumbai Police arrested three persons, including an 18-year-old girl called Shweta Singh.
