Actor Ranaut's bodyguard held on rape charge

Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut's bodyguard Kumar Shetty was in a relationship with a young make-up artist in Mumbai. It is alleged that he raped her after promising to marry her.

Mandya (Karnataka): Mumbai Police have arrested Kumar Shetty, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut's bodyguard on charges of rape and cheating.

He was arrested in Karnataka by police from the rural Heggadahalli area and taken to Mumbai for investigation, reports said.

Shetty alias Kumar Hegde was in a relationship with a young make-up artist in Mumbai. It is alleged that he raped her after promising to marry her, reports said. Recently, he borrowed Rs 50,000 for the treatment of his ailing mother in Karnataka and did not return, reports added.

The arrest comes after the woman lodged a complaint against him last month, according to reports.
