'BJP will win with record numbers in 2022 Uttarakhand polls'

Senior BJP leader and MP in Lok Sabha Ajay Bhatt said that the party will win the upcoming assembly elections in Uttarakhand with record numbers. Bhatt, who was sworn in as a Union minister on Wednesday, has served the BJP successfully in several key positions in Uttarakhand over the years.

New Delhi: Senior BJP leader and MP in Lok Sabha Ajay Bhatt said that the party will win the upcoming assembly elections in Uttarakhand with record numbers. Bhatt, who was sworn in as a Union minister on Wednesday, has served the BJP successfully in several key positions in Uttarakhand over the years. The newly inducted minister, while speaking to ETV Bharat, said, "The BJP is ready to serve the people of Uttarakhand and it will win more seats than it won in the previous assembly elections."

When asked about the recent political developments in the state, Bhatt denied any political instability in the state. "The ministers have taken their oaths and everyone in the government understands their collective responsibilities," he said. Bhatt also said since the BJP government came to power, it worked on various long-pending issues.

When asked if the Uttarakhand crisis pointed towards a development similar to that in West Bengal, Bhatt said there were some issues following which the decision to change the chief minister in the state was taken. "All issues are fixed and the rumours are baseless," he said. Bhatt also said the BJP does not require a certificate from the opposition and the party is dedicated towards the development of its people, irrespective of caste, religion and sect.

The former Ranikhet MLA played an important role in helping the BJP overcome the formidable challenge posed by the Congress in the 2017 polls.
