New Delhi:The ongoing tussle between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Trinamool Congress (TMC) made its way to a Parliamentary Standing Committee meeting in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs chaired by Congress MP Anand Sharma witnessed a heated argument with MPs of both the parties accusing each other of abetting political violence in West Bengal.
The meeting was convened to head the views of the Home Ministry on the issues pertaining to cybercrimes involving women and children.
West Bengal DGP Virendra and Chief Secretary Alapan Bandopadhay were also present in the meeting.
The state government representatives in their presentation before the committee claimed that cases of crime against women have witnessed a sharp declined. They also hailed the state government's initiatives like 'Kanyashree' for the development of women and children.
