Bhopal:After West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee refused to deliver her address at Parakram Diwas as Jai Shree Ram slogans were chanted, pro-tem Speaker of Madhya Pradesh Assembly Rameshwar Sharma gifted her a copy of Ramcharitmanas's Ramayana. Sharma claimed that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is upset over Jai Shree Ram slogans, urging her to read it carefully.
"Is Mamata Banerjee facing pressure from Bangladesh? Why is she so scared of chanting Jai Shree Ram slogans? Is she afraid of minority community residing in Bangladesh?", he asked.
He added, "Why does Mamata Banerjee get irked when people say Jai Shree Ram? Is she from Bangladesh?"
He said, "Didi, you are the Chief Minister of West Bengal. The slogans of Vande Manatram were first raised in Bengal. It is a land of great philosophers like Ram Krishna Paramhans, Swami Vivekananda...do you know that Lord Ram is Maryada Purushottam?"
"If followers of Lord Ram in India won't chant his slogans, where are they expected to go?", he asked Banerjee.
