BJP leader dies of heart attack during protest march in Bihar's Buxar

Buxar(Bihar):A BJP leader died of a heart attack on Monday during a protest march against the administration over the construction of the Chausa Thermal Power Plant in Buxar, Bihar. Parshuram Chaturvedi suddenly fainted while marching in the protest and was immediately rushed o a nearby private hospital for treatment. He succumbed to the cardiac arrest during treatment, the doctors said.

Doctors at the hospital said that the case prima facie seems to be of a heart attack, and the post-mortem reports will ascertain the exact cause of death. "BJP leader Chaturvedi ji was brought to the hospital in an unconscious state some time back. There was blood coming from his nose and mouth. He had already died by the time he reached here. It is likely to be a case of a heart attack. We have sent the body for post-mortem," Dr. Anil Kumar, from the Sadar Hospital said.

The protests, exhibiting an outrage march against the recent lathi charge on farmers and the alleged attack on MP Ashwini Kumar Choubey, were meanwhile canceled. The farmers were protesting against the construction work of the 1320 MW thermal power plant in Chausa, which was started in the cultivated fields without compensation last Wednesday.

The protests purportedly turned violent when the farmers allegedly set the police vans on fire and vandalized other property. In the arson, three SJVN buses, a police van, a fire brigade vehicle, three motorcycles, and some other property were entirely burnt down to ashes. During these protests, the police retaliated by launching a lathi charge at the farmers.
