New Delhi:A delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comprising union ministers Bhupender Yadav, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Anurag Thakur and BJP leader Om Pathak on Tuesday met the Election Commission of India (ECI) and demanded strict action against Trinamool Congress for attacking their party's national vice-president Dilip Ghosh and other leaders.
"Today, we met the Election Commission and told them that polls and violence are synonyms to each other in West Bengal. It seems that Didi and her workers have more faith in violence than polls. The manner in which BJP National Vice-President Dilip Ghosh was attacked shows that Trinamool Congress and West Bengal government consider violence to be a democracy," said Union Minister Bhupender Yadav, while addressing the media after meeting with the EC.

"We have demanded the Election Commission for strict action in the matter and the action should also be taken against the concerned officers. EC has also asked for a report from the state government. The government, in their report, said that they have arrested eight people but we think that it's just an eyewash," added Bhupender Yadav.
