Patna:The MP / MLA court on Thursday sentenced former RJD MLA Anant Singh to 10 years imprisonment in the INSAS rifle recovery case in 2015. After getting sentenced to 10 years, Singh went furious to the extent that he used inappropriate words for the court. While being taken out from the court premises in the jail's ambulance Singh informed the media that he would move Supreme Court against this ruling. "I will approach the higher courts and will go till Supreme Court. I have full faith in Judiciary," said Singh.
In the year 2015, the Secretariat police station personnel raided the official residence of Anant Singh on Mingles Road, Patna on 24 June and recovered an INSAS rifle, bullet-proof jacket, some hand grenades, and ammunition after which he was also got arrested. At that time Bihar's dreaded gangsters-turned-politician Anant Singh was the MLA of Janata Dal-United (JD-U).
