'Documents were planted in jailed activist's laptop'

A report by Arsenal Consulting, a US-based digital forensics firm has said that the laptop of jailed activist Rona Wilson was hacked and documents containing threats against Prime Minister Narendra Modi were planted in it. The report was submitted before the High Court by Wilson's lawyer.

Mumbai: One of the main accused in Bhima Koregaon case, Rona Wilson’s lawyer has told the Mumbai High Court that threatening letters in his laptop were planted by cybercriminals. The petition filed by the lawyer cited a report by US-based digital forensics firm Arsenal Consulting.

The lawyer of Rona Wilson, Passbola has submitted the report of Arsenal Consulting in the High court. The report said that for 22 months, Rona Wilson's laptop was hacked. A special malware had taken over his laptop and 10 letters had been planted. The letter mentioned about overthrowing the NDA government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

attackers hacked Rona Wilson’s laptop and planted 10 threatening letters. The report said that these types of cyberattacks are happening worldwide and this is very serious.

Rona Wilson is former alumni of JNU and he lives in Delhi. He worked for the release of political prisoners. He was one of the
most active workers since last few years. He is the member of Committee For Release Of Political Prisoners (CRPP). He was
arrested soon after Bhima Koregaon violence and his laptop was seized.

Meanwhile, Pune police have arrested fifteen persons including Gautam Navalkha, Varvara Rao, Sudha Bharadwaj, Arun Pareira and
Rona Wilson in connection with Bhima Koregaon violence.
