Zomato tests its maiden drone food delivery technology

The online food delivery company tested its maiden drone delivery technology using a hybrid drone that covered a distance of five km in about 10 minutes with a peak speed of 80 kmph to deliver a food packet.

New Delhi: Online ordering and food delivery platform Zomato successfully tested its maiden drone delivery technology using a hybrid drone that covered a distance of five km in about 10 minutes with a peak speed of 80 kmph to deliver a food packet.

Swiggy, Zomato, Uber Eats, etc., are offering food to their respective consumers' houses by booking online food distribution companies. Zomato is being one step ahead of the distribution.

The company intends to serve through the drone in the wake of increased traffic problems, to combat the same and to reach to the consumers timely this technology is launched by tomato.

The company has not made clear that it will be implemented when the new project was launched by the Zamaato firm. Zomato reported that the last week's drone test was conducted in a rural area.

Deepinder Goyal, Founder, and CEO, Zomato, said in a statement"We have been working towards building sustainable and safe delivery technology and with our first successful test, food delivery by drones is no longer just a pipe dream."
