New Delhi:Abhimanyu Kohar, youth leader of farmers collective, Rashtriya Kisan Mahasangh (RKM) on Tuesday released a book criticising the incumbent government's policy on agriculture.
The book titled, "Narendra Modi Kisan Virodhi" claims that the Prime Minister is against the concerns of the farming community and states that the BJP government failed in agricultural front.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Abhimanyu Kohar said that farmer suicides have increased during the BJP rule and the government depicted false records of farmer deaths in order to deceive the public.
"Independent survey conducted by Universities in Punjab revealed an increase in the number of farmer suicides. Since 2016, the government keeps no data on the number of deaths," he said.
"Disruptive anti-farmer policies have caused the agrarian crisis in the nation. 12 such policies are provided in detail in this book," he added.
