Youth Congress protests against govt's economic policies, slow down in economy

Youth Congress members organised a protest in front of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's residence in Delhi, alleging the government of not doing enough to provide or generate jobs for the young people. They were also of the view that economy of the country was not in good shape.

New Delhi: Hundreds of Youth Congress members on Friday held a protest against economic policies of the Union Government here in front of the official residence of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Protesters, speaking to ETV Bharat, alleged that the government has failed to provide jobs to youth and the over all economic condition of the country was not in good shape.

“The government has failed to generate employment. The economy has gone down. We want the government to take corrective measures to improve the situation,” one of the protesters said.

Delhi Police personnel dispersed the crowd that has gathered in front of the minister's house. They also had use mild force to remove the Youth Congress members from the road in the heart of the national capital.
