New Delhi:Maulana Badruddin Ajmal, senior MP and AIUDF chief in Assam, dismayed at the outrageous rhetoric of BJP leaders and made an emotional request to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "Modi, we know you're not such a bad guy and your thoughts aren't that bad, you control the people below you!," said Ajmal.

Maulana Ajmal, who came to Delhi to attend the Budget session, expressed his views on the ongoing demonstrations across the country during a special interaction with ETV Bharat.

He said that protests are underway against CAA and NRC all over the country including Assam; women are sitting with their newborn children during severe cold weather, the situation in Assam is bad, mostly Hindu brothers and sisters are protesting against this law. All of Assam is burning.

Maulana Ajmal said that the protests that are happening are not just because of emotions, but because of a fear and it was created by the BJP itself, "that if you are a Muslim then you have to go, fear of the NRC, which we saw in Assam, how much money was spent, thousands of staff worked, people were upset, they had to suffer, so much fear that they (government) have no idea."

Maulana Ajmal said that protests are taking place against the same law in Assam where 90% of the protesters are Hindus, then why does only the Muslims' name come up?

He added that RSS's particular mindset is defaming Shaheen Bagh's demonstration, "this has been their mentality from the beginning, people of this mentality are everywhere and want to benefit from it during elections."

The MP said in response to a question that this whole thing is just to persecute the Muslims, the Home Minister himself has talked so many times about bringing the NRC and to expel the Muslims, and now he is saying that there is no plan of NRC, it can't be trusted.

He also narrated on several important issues in his detailed interview.
