Working on expanding fish production in India: Giriraj Singh

Union Minister Giriraj Singh has said that the central government is working on expanding the fishery industry in India. The export od fishes from India has increased, and the government is working on expanding it more. He said that the governmnet is also working on raising the income of those involved in this occupation.

New Delhi:Union Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries Giriraj Singh has said that the central government is working upon the expansion of the Fishery industry in India.

The minister said that Modi government's rule has brought a 'blue revolution' in the fishery industry in India.

"The export of fishes which was at 11 thousand crores earlier has now gone up to 47 thousand crores," Giriraj Singh said.

Singh said that fish production in the country is being boosted and we are working on raising the income of those involved in this occupation.

"We are promoting inland fishery and will soon move towards the expansion of deep-sea fishing," he added.

He said that the government is working at increasing fish exports from India.

"Our present target is to increase exports up to one lakh crore in the next five years," said Giriraj.
