Rayanur: Three persons of a family, including a woman and her two sons, were found dead in a house in Rayanur district on Monday. The deceased have been identified as Muthulakshmi(29), her two sons Rakshith(3) and Dakshith(2).
The incident came to light when the locals noticed smoke emanating from the house and alerted the fire department. When officials broke the door of the house, Muthulakshmi was found dead and she had severe burn injuries. Her children reportedly died due to suffocation.
According to reports, the police have found a burnt mobile charger connected to an electrical socket. Cops suspect that mobile phone could have caught fire due to electric short circuit which led to death.

Muthulakshmi had slept on Sofa on Sunday night and her phone was plugged into charger near her. Reportedly,the fire had spread to the sofa, and her children who were sleeping in the adjacent room reportedly died due to asphyxiation.
On receiving the information, the Thanthonrimalai police swung into action and removed the bodies to Karur Government medical college hospital for post-mortem. A case of unnatural death has been registered and a probe has been launched.
Muthulakshmi, who had separated from her husband a few years ago, lived with her parents with her sons. Her parents reportedly left their hometown on Sunday to borrow money from relatives as the family was facing a financial crisis.
