Will the non-Muslim become members of the Jamiat Ulema?

The Jamiat Ulema have indicated a change in their way of giving membership to other community to the Jamiat.

The national political landscape has also started to affect Muslim organizations, which has led the country's largest Muslim organisation, the Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind, to signal a change in its practice to allow non-Muslim people to join the organisation.

There is a meeting of the Jammu Ulema on September 12 in the national capital, Delhi, in which members of the community will also be offered membership of the congregation to make them part of the organization.

It should be noted that according to the tradition of the Jamiat Ulema, no non-Muslim person can be part of the organization but now a plan has been made to amend the constitution by which the Non-Muslims can also become part of the organisation.

The connection could not be reached when ETV Bharat tried to talk to Jamaat Ulema General Secretary Maulana Mahmood Madani, but sources close to Maulana have confirmed the plan.

Sources added that the Jamiat also intends to change its stance on the modernisation of Madrasas

and may support the scheme.

In this regard, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind will present these proposals at a meeting of the Assembly on September 12.
