New Delhi:CPIM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury on Monday condemned the recent political developments taking place in Madhya Pradesh and accused the BJP of indulging in horse trading to topple the Kamal Nath led Congress government.
"This sort of poaching on opposition party's or ruling party's MLAs and MPs in order to reverse the people's mandate in elections which the BJP is doing is completely anti democratic. They have reduced politics and legislatures to commodities in the market which can be bought and sold and that degradation of our democratic system is something very very dangerous for the country," said Sitaram Yechury.
We have seen this happen recently in Karnataka where BJP indulged into this sort of horse trading, now we see this happening in Madhya Pradesh. Whatever may be the reasons, whatever may be the discontent among a section of the legislatures of a particular party but this sort of a horse trading and brazenly buying them up to reverse the people's mandate is completely anti democratic. We condemn it completely" he added.
