Patna(Bihar): Hours after Rashtriya Janata Dal party president Jagdanand Singh announced Amarendhari Singh as a candidate for Rajya Sabha elections, former DGP of Bihar Abhayanand has decided to part ways with politics.

Co-founder of the pioneering coaching institute, Super 30, that grooms poor children for admission to the prestigious IITs, Abhayanand declared that he will end his association with the institute.

While interacting with ETV Bharat, former DGP said, "We started Super 30 to enrich the society. It was our resolution not to include politics with the institute. But now, the name of Super 30 is politicised. This educational institute is being linked to politicians and the upcoming Bihar Assembly polls, which we do not want. So, I have decided to end my consortium with Super 30."

It may be noted that AD Singh, who provided financial aid to the leading institute, was expected to file his nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections on March 12.

When being asked about the political background of AD Singh, Abhayanand said, "When Amarendhari Singh approached us, he introduced himself as a business tycoon and not as a politician. I was not aware that Singh's family was associated with politics."

As far as the future of the children is concerned, former DGP said, "Students of Super 30 will face difficulties and families will be upset too. But I am sure that they will find a solution. We will try to guide them but I am sure that some or the other way will work out for them. We established Super 30 for the betterment of the society and we don't want it to get associated with politics. I have my principles and I cannot run this institute keeping aside my resolution."
