Viral video: Woman thrashes grandson ruthlessly in Odisha

An elderly woman was seen battering her grandson mercilessly in Gangadharpur village of Odisha's Balasore district. The video of the incident went viral on social media where the woman was seen kicking the kid ruthlessly. Police arrested the woman and the child has been rescued by Balasore Child Welfare Committee.

Balasore (Odisha):A video of a woman thrashing her seven-year-old grandson has gone viral on social media in Gangadharpur village under Basta block of Balasore district in Odisha.

While the merciless act of the woman sparked outrage among people, the administration swung into action and rescued the minor boy besides detaining the accused.

In the video, the woman was seen torturing her grandson by kicking him ruthlessly.

During the primary investigation, it was revealed that the woman punished the young boy for allegedly some mischief.

The minor boy was staying with his grandparents as his parents were working as labourers in Mumbai.

Basta police have detained the accused grandmother while the minor boy has been rescued by Balasore Child Welfare Committee (CWC).
