Vietnam Vice President visits Mahabodhi temple in Gaya

The Vice-President of Vietnam who is on an official visit to India visited Mahabodhi temple in Gaya, Bihar and paid her obeisance at the temple.

Gaya (Bihar):The Vice President of of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Dang Thai Ngoc Thinh today visited Mahabodhi temple in Bodh Gaya to pay her obeisance on the third day of her official visit to India.

Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh is on an official visit to India starting from February 11th to 13th.

The VP arrived at Gaya airport in a special chartered flight, from where she reached the Mahabodhi temple via road and offered prayers.She prayed for peace in Vietnam and India.

Amid tight security arrangements, the vice president reached Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya where District Magistrate Abhishek Singh welcomed her.

The Bodhgaya Temple Management Committee (BTMC) Secretary N Dorji and Chalinda Bhante, Dinanath Bhante and their colleagues gave a grand welcome to the Vice President. She prayed in the sanctorum of Mahabodhi Temple for world peace as well.

Chief priest of the temple Bhante Chalinda chanting the Buddhist hymns ceremonialized the prayers.

Strict security arrangements were made for the visit of the Vice president who paid homage to the holy Bodhi tree located in Mahabodhi Temple. Earlier on Wednesday, security personnel from the Gaya Airport did a mock rehearsal also.
