Acting on tip-off security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area, Commander Naresh Mishra said.
No collateral damage reported and the identity of the terrorist is yet to ascertain.

Two millitants were killed in an encounter that broke out between security forces and militants in Srinagar's Ranbirgarh. A search operation is underway.
Srinagar:Two unidentified militants were killed in an encounter with the security forces on the outskirts of Srinagar on Saturday, police said.
The security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Ranbirgarh area in the morning following inputs about the presence of militants there, a police official said.
The forces retaliated when the ultras fired upon them.
"Two terrorists have been neutralised in the encounter in Ranbirgarh. Search operation underway. The identity of the terrorists can not be confirmed for now," said Nilesh Mishra, Army 10 Sector Commander.
On Tuesday, Jammu and Kashmir Police along with the Indian Army's 38 Rashtriya Rifles had busted a terrorist hideout in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district.

According to reports, the security forces busted the hideout during a cordon and search operation in the Thanamandi area. The hideout was unearthed during a major anti-militancy operation launched by police and the Army's Thanamandi-based 38 Rashtriya Rifles inManyal area.
Last week, three terrorists from militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed were killed while three security personnel were injured in an encounter in the Nagnad-Chimmer area of Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam.
