Hyderabad:The plastic menace today affects the entire world and many initiatives are being taken by people around the world to fight this menace. A Mangaluru based environmentalist and artist, Nitin Vas has decided to promote an alternative to a plastic material we all of us use everyday morning.
It is not sufficient to find an alternative to plastic we use in day-to-day life but using them diligently makes all the difference. Almost everyone uses a plastic brush daily morning and Vas has come up with a wooden brush in place of plastic.
Vas stumbled upon an NGO working among the tribals in Assam and these tribals have mastered the art of making wooden brushes from the barks of teakwood. The bristles are degradable nylon material which is environmentally friendly.
"The brush is made of teak wood bark while the bristle is made of degradable nylon making this brush completely environmental friendly", the environmentalist said.
