New Delhi:The Union Cabinet is likely to take a call on a fresh bill to ban the practice of instant Triple Talaq and the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) in its meeting on Wednesday.
With the dissolution of the 16th Lok Sabha last month, the contentious bills had lapsed as it could not be passed by Parliament.
Since the Narendra Modi government returned to power in the recently held elections, it has decided to give a fresh push to these proposed laws in the newly-constituted Lok Sabha. As per reports, these two bills are on the top priority of the Narendra Modi 2.0 Government.
For reintroduction of these two bills, the Cabinet needs to give its approval first.
