1.LJP won't contest under Nitish Kumar's leadership, says party

The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) on Sunday virtually walked out of the National Democratic Alliance in Bihar ahead of the state assembly polls, saying that it will not fight the election under JD(U) president and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's leadership of the ruling alliance in the state, a party statement said.

2. India, China to hold 7th Corps Commander-level talks

The seventh round of Corps Commander-level talks between armies of India and China is expected to be held on October 12. It is expected to be with a specific agenda of firming up a roadmap for disengagement of troops from the friction points in eastern Ladakh, people familiar with the developments said on Sunday.

3. BJP CEC meets to finalise candidates for Bihar polls

The BJP central election committee met on Sunday to deliberate over the Bihar assembly polls and finalise the party's candidates, as the ruling National Democratic Alliance suffered a setback with Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party deciding to walk out of the NDA in the state.

4. Armenian forces target Ganja city as fighting escalates

The fighting between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces continued on Sunday over the separatist territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, with Azerbaijan's second-largest city coming under attack. Azerbaijani officials said Sunday that Armenian forces attacked Ganja, the country's second-largest city. Hikmet Hajiyev, an aide to the Azerbaijani president, tweeted a video depicting damaged buildings and called it the result of “Armenia’s massive missile attacks against dense residential areas" in Ganja.

10.India, Bangladesh hold second edition of naval exercise

The second edition of the bilateral naval exercise Bongosagar between India and Bangladesh was held in Northern Bay of Bengal. Ships from both navies participated in surface warfare drills, seamanship evolutions and helicopter operations. Indian Navy ships Kiltan, Khukri & Bangladesh Navy ships Abu Bakr, Prottoy, helo and MPA undertook manoeuvres, surface drills, helo operations and seamanship evolutions.
