1, Shopian encounter: Army finds 'prima facie' evidence against its men, initiates proceedings under Army Act

Indian Army has found prima facie' evidence against its troops which violated powers under the Armed Forces Special Powers Act during Shopian encounter in which three men were killed in July. Disciplinary proceedings have been initiated under the Army Act.

2, Drugs control organisation issues guidelines for trial, marketing of vaccines

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has issued guidelines to conduct clinical trial and the marketing of vaccines. It further informed that it has not received any report regarding such deviation from the standard procedures in research and development of a vaccine for coronavirus.

3, India is optimistic on another COVID-19 vaccine developed in US: Centre

Indian Council of Medical Research and Serum Institute of India has partnered for clinical development of a glycoprotein subunit nanoparticle adjuvanted vaccine developed by Novavax from the USA. Ashwini Kumar Chaubey informed in the Lok Sabha that the trial will be initiated in the second half of October.

4, Rise in financial frauds due to dependence on digital payment platforms: Ajit Doval

Delivering a virtual lecture on Cybersecurity at the COCONXIII-2020 conference, National Security Adviser Ajit Doval said that financial frauds have seen a hike due to greater dependence on digital payment platforms following the COVID-19 pandemic. He also informed that the Centre will be sooner launching the National cybersecurity strategy-2020.

5, Resignation beginning of struggle, SAD will stand by farmers: Harsimrat
