1. Rains continue to lash Mumbai, IMD issues red alert for today

Rains continue to lash Mumbai and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rains in parts of Maharashtra for Thursday. It has also issued a red alert for the entire North Konkan area, including Mumbai and Thane.

2. Rains claim 30 lives in Telangana, 19 of them in Hyderabad

Heavy rainfall that caused a deluge in Telangana claimed 30 lives with 19 in Hyderabad alone. While nine people in Hyderabad were killed in a wall collapse late Tuesday in Bandlaguda area while ten people were killed in other incidents like drowning and electrocution.

3. Army joins state govt in carrying out rescue ops in rain-hit Telangana

The Army is involved in the rescue and relief operations in parts of Hyderabad hit by rain fury and deluge and evacuated several marooned people on Wednesday. Heavy overnight rains claimed at least 19 lives and caused flooding in several low-lying areas of the city and elsewhere as scores were trapped in their houses.

4. India, Arab countries can partner to develop oil, gas reserves: MEA

India and Arab countries, in the Gulf and West Asia, can explore the forging of partnerships and investments to develop the oil and gas reserves in India which would provide "win-win solutions", a top official of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said.
