1. Funeral of former President Pranab Mukherjee to be held today
Former President and Bharat Ratna Pranab Mukherjee passed away at the age of 84. The veteran politician, who had tested positive for coronavirus, had been in coma after a brain surgery earlier this month. The last rites of former President of India, Pranab Mukherjee is set to be conducted today and his body will be laid in state at his official residence in the national capital to enable people to pay their last homage.
2. JEE (Main) exams to be held today
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is all set to conduct the engineering entrance exam JEE-Mains from Tuesday amid elaborate arrangements to maintain social distancing at centres in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Students appearing for the upcoming JEE and NEET exams in Mumbai, will be permitted to use the special suburban services of Central and Western Railways on exam days. They have, however, been asked to follow SOPs and maintain social distancing during their journey.
4. Education Minister speaks to CMs ahead of JEE exam
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal wished best of luck to all students who are going to appear for the JEE on Tuesday. He said, "I am also glad that over 7,77,465 have downloaded their admit cards. I have spoken to the CMs of most states to ensure that students don't face problems."
5. 'India hardest-hit by COVID-19 in Asia, a nation-wide peak may still be some distance away'
The experts from the Indian Public Health Association (IPHA) said that India which accounts for 30 percent of the daily reported new COVID-19 cases and 20 percent of daily deaths globally, would attain its peak in the coming days. However, the health experts have opined that cumulative recoveries in India are an impressive 2.3 million, and the corrected case fatality ratio (CCFR) is steadily declining.
