1. NEP will turn 'job seekers' into 'job creators': PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the New Education Policy will turn 'job seekers' into 'job creators' and it will make India a global education hub. While interacting with the students of the Smart India Hackathon, PM Modi discussed reusable sanitary napkins, real-time face recognition and artificial intelligence.

3. SpaceX Crew Dragon undocks from Space Station, headed back to Earth

SpaceX's Crew Dragon spacecraft with astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley has successfully undocked from the International Space Station (ISS) and is headed back to Earth. It will be the first splashdown for astronauts in 45 years.

4. Nepal to send updated map to India, international community

Nepal government is preparing to send the newly updated map, which includes Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura as its integral part, to the United Nations and Google. On June 13, Nepal's parliament passed the amendment to include the new political map featuring areas of Lipulekh, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura in its constitution.

6. Bengaluru organisation gets US FDA, EU nod for device that can kill COVID-19 virus

At a time when the world is grappling with the coronavirus crisis, Bengaluru based Centre for Advanced Research and Development (CARD) has come up with a device called "SHYCOCAN" (Scalene Hypercharge Corona Canon) which neutralizes the coronavirus. SHYCOCAN operates on regular 110/240V - 50/60 Hz wall socket and is a plug and play device.

7. Over 40 Assam cops donate plasma after beating COVID-19

Going beyond their call of duties, 43 Assam police personnel, after winning their battles against coronavirus donated plasma for treatment of other critical Covid-19 positive persons. A total of 67 personnel of Assam Police volunteered to donate plasma out of which 43 personnel were found eligible to donate.

8. 1,400 litres of spurious sanitizer seized in Kolkata, 2 arrested

Officers of Enforcement Branch and Anti-Rowdy Squad seized 1,400 litres of purportedly spurious sanitizers from two shops in Kolkata's Ezra Street. The police have also arrested two persons in this connection.

9. Odisha govt issues COVID-19 testing guidelines for private hospitals, labs

Amid growing concerns over the spread of the novel coronavirus, Odisha government issued guidelines for all private hospitals, nursing homes and laboratories in the state, intending to start COVID-19 testing by Rapid Antigen and RT PCR method. For Rapid Antigen Method, the nursing homes, hospitals and laboratories should be mandatorily registered under the Odisha Clinical Establishment (control and regulation) Act, 1990.

10.Assam plans to reopen educational institutions from September 1 if Centre allows

Amid growing concerns over the spread of the novel coronavirus, Assam government considering a proposal to reopen schools, colleges and educational institutions from September 1 provided it gets the Centre's nod. However, schools up to class 4 will remain closed.
