7.10.22 kg gold concealed in electrical gadgets seized at Amritsar Airport
The customs commissionerate has intercepted six passengers at the international airport in two days and seized gold worth around Rs 5 crore concealed in electrical appliances, officials said on Friday. Five passengers from Dubai were intercepted on Thursday at the Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport (SGRDJI) while another arrived in a flight under the 'Vande Bharat' mission on Friday, Customs Commissioner Dipak Kumar Gupta said in a press statement here.
8.Telangana HC dismisses petition challenging Secretariat demolition
In a breather to the TRS government, the Telangana High Court on Friday dismissed a petition challenging the demolition of the old state secretariat buildings here. A division bench of Chief Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan and justice B Vijaysen Reddy upheld the government's argument that environmental clearance was not required for flattening the structures and rejected the plea by Prof P L Vishweshwar Rao and Cheruku Sudhakar
9.SOG arrests Sanjay Jain in connection with conspiracy to topple Rajasthan govt
The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police on Friday arrested Sanjay Jain whose name had surfaced in a viral audio recording about horse-trading of legislators to topple the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government in Rajasthan, an official said. "Jain has been arrested following interrogation into the FIR lodged on the basis of an audio recording that had gone viral on social media," Additional Director General (ATS and SOG) Ashok Rathore said.
