The Reserve Bank on Thursday barred Payment System Operators (PSOs) from launching any new proprietary QR code for payment transactions. Currently, there are two interoperable QR codes -- UPI QR and Bharat QR.

7. 20 Afghan security personnel killed in Taliban attack

As many as 20 army soldiers have been killed in a Taliban attack on their outpost at Khashrod district in Afghanistan's Nimroz province. Khashrod Governor Jalil Ahmad Watandost said six other personnel were taken hostage by the Taliban, without giving any other details.
