CDS General Bipin Rawat & the 3 service chiefs met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today to discuss the situation in Ladakh after twenty Indian soldiers were killed in the skirmish in the Galwan valley.

2. Amid Ladakh tension, threat of China-Pak-North Korea cyber attack looms large

Amid reports of a large-scale phishing attack planned against Indian citizens and entities, CERT-IN (Computer Emergency Response Team-India), India’s apex agency for responding to cybersecurity incidents, too has issued an advisory warning against such an attack. 3. Environmentalist slams Oil India Limited for failure to extinguish fire at Baghjan's gas well in Assam's Tinsukia

Environmentalist Nirantar Gohain has lashed out at the Oil India Limited for not being able to extinguish the fire at Baghjan's gas well number 5 in Tinsukia district of Assam, even after 13 days. Gohain also criticised the Assam Pollution Control Board, for granting permission to Oil India Limited for mining in Baghjan, which has now been revoked.

4. CISH initiates process for GI tag for Banarsi Langrha, Chausa mangoes

After getting a GI tag for the Malihabadi Dashehari mango over a decade ago, the Lucknow-based Central Institute for Subtropical Horticulture has now initiated the process for obtaining Geographical Indication tag for Gaurjit, Banarsi Langrha, Chausa and Rataul mango varieties.
