Odisha: Three killed, several injured in lightning strikes

In separate incidents, three persons were killed and several others injured when they were struck by the lightning on Sunday. All the dead and injured people were farmers and were working in their fields when the lightning struck them.

Bhubaneswar (Odisha): At least three persons were killed and several others were injured, in separate incidents, as they were struck by lightning in Odisha's Cuttack and Kendrapara districts on Sunday.

In Cuttack's Mahanga, two persons were killed and three others were injured, due to the lightning strike, whereas, one was fatally struck in Kendrapara's Mahakalapada area.

All the deceased and injured were working in agriculture fields during the lightning strikes, the police had said.

According to Cuttack-Rural SP R B Panigrahi, two more people were killed by lightning in Mahanga's Lalitgiri and Bheda.

Police sources further said that another farmer was killed at Barakanda village under Mahakalapada police station limits.

Five farmers were killed and two others injured when they were struck by lightning in Kendrapara district on Wednesday.
