New Delhi:The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) on Thursday issued a notice to police for "failing" to register an FIR on a complaint regarding threat calls to its chief Swati Maliwal and her family.
In a letter to Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik, the DCW chief had stated that her family and she had received threat calls from some people who appeared to be spa owners.
The panel had conducted raids on spa centers and claimed that they were hubs of prostitution.
On September 20, Maliwal had written to Patnaik, providing him audio clips of the threatening calls.
She has sought the arrest of the people involved in making those calls.
"However, even after the passage of almost one week, police have failed to even register an FIR, leave alone arresting the accused," the panel said.
