Vadodra (Gujarat):The mortal remains of former finance minister and stalwart leader in the Bharatiya Janta Party Arun Jaitley were submerged in Triveni Sangam of Narmada River near Chanod-Karnali village in Gujarat's Vadodara district. Jaitely's son Rohan Jaitely performed the rituals.

Jaitley had adopted Chanod – Karnali along with Pipaliya, Valida, Baglipura under Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana on January 12, 2015. He rolled out many plans to transform it into a modern village when he visited the village on June 1, 2015.

The former union minister died on August 24 after a prolonged illness.
