Srinagar (J-K): With the Indian Army receiving 'confirmed intelligence inputs' over a possible terror attack in the Kashmir valley, specifically targetting the pilgrims on Amarnath Yatra, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a security advisory urging the people to return home 'as soon as possible'.
The advisory stated: "Keeping in view the latest intelligence inputs of terror threats, with specific targeting of the Amartnath Yatra, and given the prevailing security situation in the Kashmir Valley, in the interest of safety and security of the tourists and Amarnath Yatris, it is advised that they may curtail their stay in the valley immediately and take necessary measured to return as soon possible."
On Thursday, over 280 companies of security forces, mostly CRPF personnel, were deployed in vulnerable points in the city and other parts of the Kashmir valley. All major entry and exit points of the city have been taken over by the Central Armed Paramilitary Forces (CAPFs) with a token presence of local police.
