FIR against actor Rhea Chakraborty after Sushant's family files complaint

The family members of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput lodged a complaint with Bihar police against his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty for abetting the suicide of the actor at his Mumbai based residence on June 14 this year. Several celebrities, politicians and fans of the actor have demanded a CBI probe into his death.

Patna (Bihar):The family members of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput on Tuesday lodged a complaint of abetment to suicide against his alleged girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, with the Rajeev Nagar police. A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered by the police on the basis of the family's complaint.

On June 14, Sushant was found hanging at his Bandra residence by his domestic help. Post mortem report stated that the actor died by asphyxia due to hanging. A probe by Mumbai police into his death is underway.

Sushant's demise sparked off discussions around several things including nepotism to the ruthless favouritism that Bollywood power camps allegedly engage in.

Several celebrities, politicians and fans of the actor have demanded a CBI probe into the death.

On Monday, Mumbai Police recorded the statement of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt as part of the case investigation.

Apart from the late actor's family and friends, several Bollywood celebrities including Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Aditya Chopra, director Mukesh Chhabra and Sushant's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty have already recorded their statements with the police.
