New Delhi:The Supreme Court bench led by the Chief Justice of India, SA Bobde, issued notice in response to a bunch of petitions challenging the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 (CAA) and tagged the petitions along with other around 150 petitions which have been filed pertaining to issues arising out of CAA.
A petitioner from Assam sought interim order over his plea and wanted to consider his plea on Assam Accords separate from other petitions but the court denied and the CJI Bobde said that no interim order could be passed regarding the Assam Accord.
Since the lockdown started, today the CAA cases were listed for the first time and without many arguments from the parties involved, it was concluded with the issue of notice and tagging with other similar petitions.
