New Delhi:The CPI(M) on Wednesday slammed the Modi-led BJP government for its claims of 'normalcy' after the abrogation of Article 370 in the Kashmir valley last year.
Addressing the media in the national capital, CPI(M) General Secy Sitaram Yechuri commented over the yet another delegation visit to Kashmir claiming that these stage managed visits are good for publication representation only and thus, far from reality.
"Six months have passed by since the abrogation of Article 370 and the state has been very badly hit on various fronts. The economy of Kashmir is suffering and the livelihood conditions are more miserable. This government is providing no relief to the people of Kashmir," said Sitaram Yechuri.
Referring to the recent Public Safety Act slapped on Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah along with some other leaders Yechuri said that new draconian sections are being slapped on the leaders of Jammu and Kashmir.
"I have been receiving delegations from Jammu and Ladakh region which are concerned about their rights that they enjoyed in the past, pertaining to their identity under 35A."
Till the time, Supreme Court does not decide on the petitions challenging the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A, the Jammu and Kashmir administration should not take decisions like giving government land to individuals and trusts from different states," said Yechuri.
