New Delhi: In a major development in India's fight against COVID-19 pandemic, the country on Wednesday registered 2 lakh Corona tests in last 24 hours through its 1000 labs. With 215195 samples tested in the last 24 hours, the total number now stands at 7352911.
Significantly, India's COVID-19 recovery rate has also reached 56.71 per cent with 10495 patients got discharged from the hospital in the last 24 hours. As many as 258684 COVID patients have been cured till date.
Presently, there are 183022 active COVID cases in India, said health ministry statistics. Ironically, states and UTs like Maharashtra, New Delhi, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat continued witnessing a spike in COVID cases with 139010, 66602, 64603 and 28371. The health ministry has also expressed serious concern over a spike in COVID cases in these four states.
Meanwhile, in a development related to Patanjali's claim of having an Ayurvedic medicine that can cure COVID-19 patients, Ayush Minister Shripad Nayak said that yoga guru Ramdev's Patanjali Ayurved coming up with medicines "was a good initiative but due process gas to be followed."
