Raipur: In response to a rakhi and a letter sent by Rajya Sabha MP Saroj Pandey, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday tweeted and said that soon there will be a complete ban on liquor in Chhattisgarh.
In a tweet, he wrote, "Sister Saroj Pandey Ji! Today your brother Bhupesh is promising you that soon there will be complete prohibition on liquor in the state, we are all preparing for it."
Rajya Sabha MP from BJP Saroj Pandey despatched a rakhi to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday. Believing his elder brother, Saroj despatched a rakhi to Bhupesh and asked for a gift with it.
Saroj, in a gift, asked Baghel of complete prohibition on liquor in the state.

She further wrote that the purpose of this letter is to remind you of the promise that you made to all the mothers and sisters of Chhattisgarh in the election manifesto while you were on the post of Congress President, you had assured them that whenever the Congress government will form in the state, a complete prohibition on liquor will be implemented in the state.
On your promise, the sisters of Chhattisgarh believed in you, and you are now the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, hence, its time to fulfil your promise.
There have been many reactions from the Congress relating to this gift demanded by Saroj. The Congress has termed it as taking political benefit of the competition.
