Sonu Sood helps Karate national player for knee surgery

National Karate player Vijendra Kaur's ligament was broken in January while she was practising for which she needed to undergo a surgery. However, due to financial constraints, she wasn't able to. It is then when she reached Sonu Sood on Twitter, the actor agreed and helped her with the surgery.

New Delhi: Film Actor Sonu Sood has been helping people since the time of lockdown and urging others to help each other during these hard times.

The latest recipient to get Sonu's help is National Karate athlete Vijendra Kaur.

Kaur's ligament was broken in January while she was practising and the doctors told her that she needs to undergo surgery to get playing again.

However, due to the poor financial condition of her family and on top of that the added problem of the corona crisis, she was unable to get herself treated.

She said she also pleaded for help from many people but no one came forward to help.

It is then Vijender Kaur requested help from Sonu Sood.

As soon as Sonu Sood got came to know of Kaur's ligament injury, he spoke to his friend and famous doctor of Ghaziabad Akhilesh Yadav.

Sonu asked Dr Yadav to perform Kaur's operation free of cost and the latter complied.

On September 1, Dr Yadav successfully operated on the ligament by telescope method with his team at Healing Tree Hospital, Indirapuram.

He also added that Kaur will be able to play once again in a day or two.

Following the surgery, Sonu Sood made a video call and spoke to Dr Akhilesh inquiring about Kaur's health.

It should be noted that along with Sonu, Dr Akhilesh has also been helping many people from the economically weaker section.

Talking about it, Dr Akhilesh said that he considers himself very lucky that God has chosen him to do this noble cause.

He added that he will continue helping financially weak people in the days to come.
