New Delhi: Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) chief Sonia Gandhi has hit out at the Union government for privatisation and claimed that government is secretive in privatising the Modern Coach factory of Rae Bareli.

"The real concern is that they have chosen Modern Coach Factory for the experiment. The employees have also not been taken into confidence. It is a matter of sadness that their and their families' future is in danger," she added.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha, she claimed that factory was being set up by the UPA Government to boost manufacturing in the country and it is the "most modern plant" that manufactures good quality coaches at a cheaper price.
She also levelled concerns over the situation of other Public Sector Undertakings (PSU), including Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and BSNL.
Further, she urged the government to protect the Modern Coach Factory and other PSUs and give respect to the farmers and their families.
