Sikar (Rajasthan): Delhi Police Head Constable Ratan Lal, who died during clashes over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in North-East Delhi, has been honoured with 'martyr' status, and his wife has been promised a government job apart from an ex gratia of Rs. 1 crore by the state government.
The announcement, made by Sikar MLA Swami Sumedhanand Saraswati, came after family members of the slain constable blocked the road leading to Tihavali, his village in Sikar district of Rajasthan, demanding that Ratan Lal be given the status of a 'martyr'.
The 42-year-old head constable attached to the office of the ACP Gokalpuri, died after he sustained injuries during stone-pelting at Chand Bagh.
He is survived by his wife and three children.
