Vishwa Hindu Parishad Archak Purohit, Premnath Taiya said that he got the information during a conversation with Champat Rai who is the General Secretary of VHP and Vice-President of Shri Ram Janma Bhoomi Teerth Kshetra.

Sand from Phalgu river to be used in temple construction:

Waters from all holy rivers and soil of major shrines across the nation will also be used to construct the temple.

Taiya said that right after receiving the information all the construction materials were made available instantly and the sand from Phalgu river in Gaya was sent to Ayodhya nearly one month back.

Silver Brick from Gaya Dham:

One kilogram and a quarter of silver brick will also be sent from Gaya Dham for the foundation of the temple and a committee has been formed under the leadership of VHP district president Dr NK Gupta which will supervise the building of silver brick.

VHP officials said that the construction of Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya is the result of decades of struggle and Gaya is fortunate to contribute to the sacred work.

Gaya's presence in mythological books:

Gaya is a holy patriarchal pilgrimage site as the footsteps of Lord Vishnu have fallen here. Gaya's glory is unmatchable. This is the reason that the visits of the legendary sage Lord Shriram, his younger brother Bharat, Rishi Bharadwaj, Pitamah Bhishma, Maharaj Yudhishthira, Maharathi Bhima are described in various Puranas and other holy books.

Significance of Phalgu river:

It is believed that Lord Rama along with his brother Lakshman and Sita have offered donations for the salvation of the soul of father King Dasharatha on the banks of Phalgu river. Following this, the sand of river Phalgu is being used in the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Notably, many people pay homage to their forefathers on the bank of Phalgu river which passes through Gaya. People also pray for their ancestors’ salvation by making ‘Pindas’ from Phalgu river sand.
