New Delhi: Shooter Shreyasi Singh, daughter of former union minister late Digvijay Singh, on Sunday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of party leader Bhupendra Yadav. Other senior BJP leaders were also present on the occasion.
Singh said that the main motive behind joining the party is to fulfil the dream of her father late Digvijay Singh. She is expected to be the party’s candidate either from Amarpur (Banka) or Jamui, depending on the seat-sharing with alliance partners. LJP national president Chirag Paswan represents the Jamui parliamentary constituency currently.
"With the blessing of my mother and elder sister today I accept the membership of BJP. The main motive in joining the party is to fulfil my father's dream," Singh said.
She added, "I am inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Atamnirbhar Bharat. I am impressed with the work done by our PM in the last six years. I will work on this path to strengthen Bihar.
