Senior Kashmiri separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani resigns from All Parties Hurriyat Conference

Jammu and Kashmir: Senior Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani has dissociated himself from separatist conglomerate All Parties Hurriyat Conference.

The announcement was made by the veteran separatist leader on Monday via a short audio clip followed by a detailed letter to the people.

“Looking at the current situation of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, I announce my resignation from this forum. Units have been informed by a letter, " read the letter written by Geelani.

All Parties Hurriyat Conference is an alliance of 26 political, social and religious organisations founded on 9 March 1993 by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, as a united political front to raise the cause of Kashmiri separatism in the Kashmir conflict.
