Sena stands exposed, arrogance shattered: BJP's Rajiv Pratap Rudy

Speaking to ETV Bharat, Bharatiya Janta Party's national spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy took a jibe at its former ally and said that Shiv Sena has become a laughing stock, and claimed that they "stand exposed" with their "arrogance shattered".

New Delhi: Taking a dig at what he termed as their "natural allies", Bharatiya Janta Party's national spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said that Shiv Sena has become a laughing stock, and claimed that they "stand exposed" with their "arrogance shattered".

While justifying the President's rule imposed in Maharashtra, Rudy said, "Their stand exposed and their arrogance has been shattered. President's rule was necessary. It will be revoked or lifted as and when the Governor feels that the situation is conducive enough for government formation in the state."

With Shiv Sena moving the Supreme Court against Governor BS Koshyari's refusal to give them more time to stake claim to form the government, Rudy further told ETV Bharat, "Let them go wherever they want to. No one can stop them. We were trying to form a government in the state for the past 18 days, and BJP had been elected as the single-largest party in the state."

"Our natural alliance was with Shiv Sena, but considering the way they behaved this time around and the way they resorted to arm-twisting policy, I would like to suggest Shiv Sena to respect the people's mandate, " added the BJP leader,

On Sena approaching Congress and Nationalist Congress Party to form government in the state ditching the saffron party over Chief Minister's position, the MP from Saran said, "BJP told the governor that we don't have a majority and Shiv Sena jumped at the opportunity. They frantically started approaching parties like NCP and Congress. Now, they are blaming both parties for having cheated on them. This is an extraordinary situation. Those two parties are not it's natural allies, we are."

When asked if they would consider forming an alliance with Shiv Sena in case it apologises, Rudy dodged the question and said that he wouldn't want to pass comment on that yet.
