New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday directed the Centre to respond in two weeks regarding how is it ensuring that the employees are being paid full salaries and are not terminated during the lockdown amid the corona pandemic.
Seeking the plan action regarding the implementation of the Ministry of Home Affairs notification, which called for payment of full wages to employees during COVID-19 lockdown, the highest judicial court directed the Centre to place its policy on record this regard.

A Bench comprising Justices NV Ramana, Sanjay Kishan Kaul & BR Gavai granted two weeks to the Centre to file its response as aforementioned while hearing batch petitions filed by private organisations which challenged the Ministry of Home Affairs notifications directing the employers to pay the full amount to the workers during the lockdown.
The organisations had contended that there was no power conferred to the government to order the private companies in directing so and due to no revenue during the lockdown, the firms can not pay the full wages.
