SC dismisses plea seeking cancellation of CBSE compartment exams

SC dismissed a plea seeking cancellation of CBSE compartment exams by CBSE for class 10th and 12th amid COVID 19. Earlier, today the judges asked the students to file a fresh plea challenging CBSE's notification on exams.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed a petition filed by students seeking cancellation of compartment exams by CBSE for class 10th and 12th amid COVID 19.

The bench led by Justice AM Khanwilkar was hearing a plea by All Students Association which represented more than 800 students.

Judges had earlier directed the petitioners to approach CBSE regarding their demands but it gave a "vague reply" to them after which they had approached the apex court again.

CBSE had informed the court that conducting exams was necessary for the students' future and students' demand could not be expected.

Earlier today the judges asked the students to file a fresh plea challenging CBSE's notification on exams.

CBSE had earlier cancelled the boards in wake of COVID 19.
