SC dismisses PIL seeking implementation of Home Ministry's order on eviction

On Tuesday, the Supreme Court dismissed a PIL filed by Pawan Paraksh Pathak who sought directions to the government to comply with Home Ministry's 29th March order in eviction reported matters.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court today dismissed a petition seeking directions to the government to comply with Home Ministry's 29th March order in eviction reported matters.

PIL filed by Pawan Paraksh Pathak also sought a quick response to be taken on eviction reporting by the tenants amid corona or till further orders of the government.

The court also warned him that they would be imposing a heavy cost on petitions filed like this, can not allow the lawyers to file a petition in person.

"The lawyer is filing n number of cases concerning corona, I don't understand this," observed Justice SK Kaul.

The bench did not impose cost and simply dismissed the petition.

Pathak had initially also filed a PIL which sought the creation of an emergency fund for the practising lawyers amid corona, which was also dismissed by the court leaving the matter on BCI to decide.
